Anthony J. Cotto, known as The Club Regulator DJ Grimey, was born September 10, 1986 in San Juan, PR. He later moved to Brooklyn, NY at age 5 and then Tampa, FL at the age of 13. At the young age of 16, DJ Grimey began working in the music industry of Hip Hop and Reggaeton. His DJ name originated from the NY style of Hip Hop, which is considered grimey or a dirty-style type of music. This type of music consists of hard core hip hop and rap such as Big Pun, Mob Deep, Nas, DMX and AZ. DJ Grimey has a following of a Latin and hip hop based crowd for which he spins a mixture of hip-hop, dancehall, reggaeton, and house music. He is the only DJ to convert two styles of music into one that reaches the ears of music-lovers; taking the down south style with the New York movement. He created bone chilling remixes that won him respect in the DJ community. DJ Grimey has produced several mixtapes and remixes in his career. He has been on La Nueva 92.5 hosting and spinning for a show called D Party. He recently appeared on the MTV show called Spin Masters hosted by Simeon Rice. He has worked at several Reggaeton concerts with artists such as; Jadiel, Don Chezina, Yomo, Xtreme, Jowell Y Randy, De La Ghetto, and Voltio. He also works regularly at several clubs in Tampa, such as Studio Inc. In 2007, DJ Grimey created the Regulator DJs. With his close friends DJ Aze.One and DJ June, they entered the DJ world full forced with the exclusive crew. Now, in 2009, he sits with over 60 DJs and a new website that offers many things to the crew and the public, including forms, music, broadcasting, and downloads. He continues to run the crew in the right direction and recruiting new members. Being the first and only in Tampa, FL to setup an internet broadcast, DJ Grimey does live shows from the nightclubs and home. He offers viewers a chance to see the nightlife music experience, without leaving their home. This also gives viewers a chance to experience a real DJ, right from the computer screen.
