How can I try not to annoy people?

First, please be courteous and don't post rude or offensive messages. If you are nice to people, you will live a long and rewarding life.

Second, there is NO NEED TO TYPE EVERYTHING IN CAPITAL LETTERS. No need to shout, we can hear you.

The same goes for 1337 speak. 1053R.

Finally, try to write descriptive subject lines - especially in the help forum. In other words, if you need help editing your mp3 tags, don't make the subject line 'I need help!!!!'

What do those little icons mean in the right hand corner of the discussion title mean?

- This discussion must be read before posting anything in that area.
- This discussion will stay at the top of the forum area.
- This discussion or area is read-only. You can't post here.
- This discussion needs following up and hasn't been resolved.

How do I start a new discussion?

First, decide which area you should write your message in. For example, if you are asking for help setting up Scratch LIVE, use the "Help" area. If you are wanting to talk about how amazing you are at 2 click flares, use the "General Discussion" area.

Next, click on the "New Discussion" link at the bottom of the messages in that area. Then type in the name of the topic and your message in the form. Easy.

What does the 'I would like this post to be followed up' option do?

If you select this when starting a new discussion in a forum area that supports this option, a icon will be visible next to the discussion's title in the forum area. This lets the moderators know that you have some issue that needs resolving.

When the mods deem your problem resolved, they will remove the icon.

I messed up! Can I edit my message?

No, editing messages makes it hard to follow a discussion. To avoid mistakes in the future please try to preview a message before submitting it.

How do I add a link to another website in my message?

Simply type the URL or website address (eg http://serato.com or www.serato.com/products/pnt/screenshot.jpg) into your message. The forum turns that into a link using magic.

Can I add an image to my message?

No, you can't add an image to your message. You can, however, place a link to the image by typing in the URL as described above.

You can find a forum discussion containing some recommended image hosting sites here

How do I quote someone?

If you want to quote a message in the current discussion click on "quote" inside the message you wish to quote.

If you wish to quote something from outside of the current discussion you should use
text
.

Can I write bold text in my message? How about underlined text? Italics?

Sure.

Use text to make your text bold.
Use text for underlined text.
Use text for italicised text.
