iLife and Leopard

Just read... iLife (Garage etc.) is part of the hardware, so if you update your Mac OSX you have to buy iLife again. Is that true?

if life is not part of OSX (any version). ilife is included with new macs for free or available for purchase seperately for old macs (pre free-ilife).

if you upgrade a mac with ilife on it, it will continue to work fine.

if you do a fresh install of leopard on a mac and wipe the disc clean first, you can install ilife from the cds that came with your mac. it will work fine.

if you have ilife 07, it is not going to upgrade to ilife 08 automatically or anything. if your computer came with an older ilife and you want ilife 08, you'll need to buy it.

if you bought a new mac after ilife 08 was released, i believe those macs do come with ilife 08.

So iLife is actually on the OSX cd which came with my Mac? Does that mean there are two different OSX cd's? One which comes with new h/w and one which is just plain the OSX?

There were 2 intalation DVDs when in bought my Macbook Pro...One with the OSX, and one with Ilife and extras.

Ilife 08 was released on August 07.
