Ghost Folder Into the hard disc

Hi!
somebody help me to find some files is on my external drive?
I had the same problem a month ago and I found a ghost folder. in that folder is write something about a SSL library... then when you change the the library in the same drive you still show all the name you had in the other old one(just a name--No files).
I found this folder reading the external drive with a PC... But into my MAC is no showing.
I hope it's clear.....sorry for my enghlish

Isn't there a setting on Macs where you can choose whether you want to view hidden folders or not. I only got experience with PC, but I would assume there is one.
