I just finished loading about 20k songs on to my mac HD and importing them into serato. I noticed that I a lot of the tracks were missing time, bitrate info and some of them are missing BPM info after I analyzed them. When I load the tracks into a deck the info pops in but I have so many tracks I do not have the time to load every track into the decks. Is there another method to get this info into serato library? The tracks are not locked

Hello Mike,

It sounds like you might have a corrupt databaseV2 file(s).

Try this:

1. Completely shut down SSL.
2. Open your Macintosh HD drive.
3. Click on your 'Music' folder (you might need to click on the house icon to see your music folder).
4. Open the 'ScratchLIVE' folder.
5. Rename the 'databaseV2' file to something other than its original name. I usually rename it 'corruptdatabaseV2'.

If your using an external drive open the _ScratchLIVE_ folder on your external and rename the databaseV2 file in there as well.

6. Re-open SSL.

If done correctly you will see your tags getting re-written at the bottom of the page.

Note: Rebuilding the databaseV2 file will revert all of the 'date added' dates to today's date and will delete any files out of SSL that aren't currently in a crate or playlist.

Did your info show up again?

I followed the above directions. It did take a while to re-write my tags. Now that it is done it looks like 90% of my library is now missing the time and bitrate info. Do I need to re-analyze.

I hit the “analyze file” button and it analyzed around 1000 songs. I have roughly 60k songs and I would say only 5-8k have the time and bitrate info now. Tracks that had it in the previous databaseV2 file are now missing this data.

I wasn't aware of this but apparently the length and bitrate info is stored in the database so rebuilding it wouldn't have fixed the issue.

At this point.. try dragging/dropping the files that don't have bitrate and length directly onto the 'analyze files' tab.

That should calculate the info.

I did not realize that I could drag files on to the ‘analyze files’ tab. That works perfect. Thank you.
