Serato Feature Suggestions

1) I'm sick of looking at green... I think there should be a feature (Unless there already is one - If there is I'm gonna feel like a dick for saying this!) were the DJ's can change colour or font.

2) It's long overdue.... With other software out there.... I think Serato has to add the Effects feature... Love my serato - But putting effects into the software make it more appealing. Just a thought - I'm shure I'm not the first to suggest this idea.

3) This is my biggest suggestion. And I believe it's a feature that would benifit many dj's who use Serato. A playcount feature.... Meaning after your gig you can jump onto serato and find out what songs you play more than others. meaning you can do a countdown see how many times you've played David Guetta this month.... This is also a cool to weed shit off our laptops/play songs that are not getting played enough - just another cool feature I think dj's could use - Especially live to air or radio serato dj users......

1) I dont agree... the green is REALLY easy to see in the dark
2) I don't agree... I use an external fx processor (Pioneer EFX-500) and don't want serato to add any unnecessary bloat.
3) This sounds like a good idea, like an addition to the history section... basically a way of formatting the history results in a way to see totals in the playcount.
(This could also be done with an external program, because you can export your history)
Maybe someone could write a small program that aggregates the results from a history export?

re: 3) funny cause the FX would be really awesome to have but i have always thought serato was basically a solution to replace a large library of music instead of carrying vinyl. since the others all have FX i think serato should still put it in to compete with everyone else. i always praise serato for the stability but all my friends dont want to get it cause theres no effects. they have no idea how much better a program it is as a whole! easy to use and setup in 5 mins. traktor takes 3 years to setup i tried it

"Hide the waveforms" would be a great feature for practicing and keeping yourself on your toes. Shit I would pay for that feature!! We've all become slaves to those waveforms.

The only thing I would like is some sort of basic eq adjustabillity for songs kind of like the gain feature that they already use. You can adjust songs at home but it'd be nice to be at a club and be able to boost/cut the highs on a certain track and have it set like that for the future.

Get a mixer or separate piece of equipment to do it for you.

we should have had this ages ago! we've been asking for this for long time serato.

i still say there should be an option to hide the waveforms and replace them with an view from a webcam that way you can stare at the screen AND read your crowd

Wouldn't this also cut down on CPU usegde for those with lower spec laptops.

customizable GUI! That way we can change the layout & color scheme whenever we want! That's all I really need.

I don't like the FX feature suggestion, if you want FX, buy the 57 or some other mixers, same with eq. All that would do is mess with the current easy to read user interface and make it much busier....serato shouldn't be your total dj solution, just one of your tools...or maybe it shuold be...but I like how someone above put it "i have always thought serato was basically a solution to replace a large library of music instead of carrying vinyl."

I wouldn't want effects within the software for the reasons already mentioned. The color is fine.

It sucks cause I remember when SL would run on my iBook. Now it's so bloated with features (needed and not) that you gotta keep upgrading your laptop.

I want Daytime Mode (Black SSL outdoors very difficult to see)

Scrolling Song Titles (for the lengthy titles that cut off at the end)

No one forces you to use newer versions. All older versions are still available afaik.

only feature that would be cool is adding eqs to the sampler players or the sampler having the ability to also import eq adjustments from the main deck when you instant double from deck to sampler. with that the sampler will become officially a third deck

Hide the waveforms just make it a type in, like before trainspotting was mainstream we had to type djam, or do we still have to?

Maybe type "no wavies" to hide the waveforms.

yes because if you can't see them the waveforms don't exist, and your computer doesnt have to generate them.

I use the same logic with drunk patrons who request songs and dont leave me alone, just stick a postit not on their head and as long as i cant see them their not really there...be sure to have alot of them with you though cause your average drunkard will manage to get 2 or 3 off before leagving you alone....remember to be persistant

i believe that reduces their cpu usage as well
