Baby got Back|RNR Remix I walk the line Laurent Wolf video mixes. (criticism?)

well, Technically the baby got back proved a little more difficult than I anticipated.
Im wondering if rendering the videos with a higher FR & KFs will make it easier
and I wont have too much quality loss.

any who

||Sir Mix Alot - Baby Got Back (RNR Remix)||
If you havent heard this mix, its pretty lush...
the non baby got back parts are a little on the thin side, but short enough that
you dont lose the feel of the track... builds are great though.
I always get a great reaction from when I dropped the audio

I decided to make this its own thread becuase I wanted some other feedback
on it... Im really trying to PERFECT this whole "video mix" thing...
Id kill to sit down with a vegas pro for 4 hours.
This mix is a banger. I always get a reaction...Laurent wolf is one of my fav dance
producers... (even though he's got a little top40ish lately)... I must have about
12 records on the Darkness label that ROCK.
anyway, here ya go...

says the sir mix a lot video is private.

I have the same footage for walk the line live performance. That was from Austin City Limits. Not sure where you got the dancing cowgirls from... but it fits. Good job on the edit!

I was about to edit that same track for my personal library. Love that version.

nice work on the baby got back.............just gotta get ur cropping down........(to get rid of the black bars)

might be a bitch to fix now cuz you'd have to change every clip on the ass shakin vid, but nice use of effects! The sir mix alot could use a lil cropping to......Usually 704 or 688 will take care of that.....

thanks man....
I think going forward Ill start erroring my cropping on the side of the image
rather than trying to find that perfect edge so I dont loose any of the screen.

definitely one of the first things to do before you start making your edits, otherwise for every clip you chop up you have to go back and do it to each one....also looping a small section and rendering that loop will give you a live preview of it before you start the project helps....

Baby got back was very cool. Its not just the video, and I don't think I have heard that remix...<diggin>...

On the Laurent Wolf - i was distracted by the edges (not sure whats thats called). It seemed to be a bit thick...but otherwise, I liked it....

yeah I was on the fence with the borders.
I had it without then... and the original is such a thin letterbox it looks
bad...I didnt want to stretch the image too too much, I rendered t both ways, and it just looked "fuller" with the bars.

thats the video for Armand & Facelifts's shake ya ass.

it was funny...thats exactly what my wife said...
"josh.... none of those girls have an ass"
Im not gonna hate on them...They shake nicely.

Twiz, in 80% of the rooms I play Id play nothing but the original.
but in that small percntage of places where I can get house-ee its a nice
switch from the orig...Ive dropped the audio in plenty of dance rooms and
got great reactions...Id never think of dropping it in a top40/hiphop room
Id prolly get lynched... maybe if it had a verse or two from the original...

I play baby got back 3-4x a month easily, maybe more....I wouldn't play it for a housier crowd, but I have even played it was a mostly urban group and it works...its all about timing

theres a handful of 90s stuff in the 125-135 area that KILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLS for me.

quad city, salt n pepa, outta here bros, 2 live crew, freak nasty, 95 south, tagteam, 69Boyz ect ect ect...

Ive always thought it was funny that people who DESPISE dance music because its
too fast or whatever, but eat this shit up.

dj'ing is such a "relative" profession

totally agreed - i have been having much success with TOOTSIE ROLL lately...I think that era of music seemed more FUN...people need to loosen up and not get so into "this is a hot song, I want it, even though I can't dance to it, but I want to request it cuz I think i am hot sh!t"

I made two. one letterbox, one filled.

nothing special.
had to re-arrange the verses for the Xtd mix I used.
I was going to do another with the Chew-Fu mix maybe.

Mr. Joshua Carl....nice to see you on here : ) [kristin korpos here....]

I was researching the video stuff....and well, not suprised to find you in the forum here...nice vids, I aspire to edit at some point too....but for now I just think it's time for me to head into the video age...

After our conversation at the mall a few months ago, and just doing more research, I think that this will spice things up. After 10 years of DJing...well, I need some thing new to add to the mix.

Anyway, just thought I would say hi....see you around here. I will have to get in touch and stop in at your Saturday gig and check it out!
