I lost it in july. I have been trying hard to find a new one and I can't find anything!!!!

The company I work for is walking on a thin ice. We're going from working 4 days a week to 3 days a week.

"It's not looking good" as the ownership says. Here's the irony, one of the owners will be going on an expensive cruise to Brazil etc.. with all luxaries an all for almost a month, yet we might not make it to see 2010. LOL

I will begin searching for a job though, now that I dont have car payments and not in much debt I could off been saving money if working 80+ hours (I barely make 40+ hours now).

I booked a couple of gigs for December but I have a feeling they might cancel not because of price but not having the cash. :(

start searching deck. That's what happened to us. We got the whole "it's not looking good spiel" 6 months later the whole company went under.

Funny how 6 months ago all employees got letters saying that the company was closing around mid July due to the economy etc... : /

Sounds like my company. I'm still working (thank god), but I had my pay reduced bigtime last december and lost all of the overtime I used to get. Meanwhile others have gotten raises and fat bonuses twice since. I asked for my pay back and I got the "times are tough" speech. Right...times are tough for schmucks like me!!

I dont technicaly have a job anymore since august '09 but havnt actually worked since June '08. But at least getting funds through workers comp.pretty much 40 hour pay.

But that stopped this Sept. and my company let me go.I couldnt work there anymore doing what I did anyways cause of my injury but these fuckers dont want to put me in another department either which has there insurance pissed cause now they gotta dish out a full settlement plus school or training for something.Fuck them and all managment there.

I do photography, graphic design and starting to do some mobile dj gigs again along with savings to hold me over for about a year but I gotta figure out what Im gonna do.

There's always retail to hold you over until you find something you really want to do.

I got shit canned in April, still can't find anything.... its really bad out here.

I lost my Job of 8 years with Indymac Bank about a year and a half ago. Got a good severance package. Was able to take at least a month or two off. But took me 8-9 months to find this crappy job that I'm at now. Hang in there guys. I'm sure something will pop up. But if all else fails!!! Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo

I hope I don't lose my job. They are cutting back big time where I work. Our annual employee awards/holiday dinner used to be a formal affair at the Ritz. Last year it was a mid day lunceon. This year it's 'On-Line' with lunch in a conference room.

The only reassurance I have is the fact that I work at an accounting firm and tax season is just around the corner.

I am quitting my job (US Military) in March of next year... Can't Wait!

I have a steady part-time job(12hours/week) since the beginning of this week and also
this week I was offered a job for 9 months part-time.

So after 8 months suddently everythings coming in to place.
Maybe that's the new thing to do, combine pat-time jobs.

I'm also lucky that I live in Belgium and get unimployed money. And that's even more than what my girlfriend gets with her full time job, go figure,...

I must be lucky, got me a new job paying £8 a hour more than my last:)

I get a good chunk of change from monthly benefits so I'm sitting comfy till I finish school

Yeah but we found that our relationship was getting pushed aside by business & Id rather be jobless wit a father than vice Versa! I came to the decision in jan that It just wasnt working out the way we would like.

So I quit foolishly thinking i could get another job.

Man, as stressed out I am these past couple of weeks with being overworked, late hours, and just being tired as hell, sometimes I wish I lost my job.

With a high mortgage payment, and no college education I think I'm stuck right now.

count your blessings you have a job. I am really loathing my job even though I've been here for over 5 years and have good job security and good pay. It's just not challenging anymore and too much office politics and career path has come to a halt (do to budget cuts and reducing staff).

But then again I have a handful of friends who have been looking for a job for half a year or even more. Some of them moved back to ride the gravy train.

What do you do?
