Korg Zero4 Does it work with serato
W'sup everybody. I'm new to the forums and new to serato but I'm an old DJ. I just got serato sl1. I have a Korg Zero4 midi mixer with a gateway xp home edition laptop. Does the Korg Zero 4 work with serato? Is there anything I need to know or do or download or modify or anything?

The midi works with serato but you can't use it as audio interface for serato .....use zero edit to chang buttons from toggle to momentary that will help but otherwise plug and play as far as midi goes ....

What do you mean about changing buttons from toggle to momentary?
I also can't get the midi to work without the firewire. I have midi to usb hooked up but when I remove the firewire, midi stops. My laptop does not have firewire so I got a firewire card. I can't leave the card in the laptop when I play out because it's bulky and I can just imagine it getting caught up on something and breaking or worse.
How do I get the midi to work without the firewire?

Sorry if I sound like a noob but as far as midi is concerned, I am. I don't know anything about it.

The Zero4 only has Firewire. If you don't plug it into your computer via Firewire, you don't have any MIDI control from the Zero4.

So what are the midi in/out for?
I thought that the firewire was only for audio via built in soundcard. I know I can't use the soundcard but I want to use midi to scroll crates and files, load and unload tracks, trigger cue points and trigger samples.
Can that be done using the Midi to usb without using the firewire?

You're quite right - I'd forgotten about the MIDI in and out.
Being XP, I really can't help but you should be able to get drivers to work with your PC. What MIDI to USB solution are you using?

Thanks. I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I like the mixer. I got it based off your review. That was you that reviewed that mixer right? The headphone output is really low but other than that, I like the mixer.
If I can't get the midi to work like it should, it's nothing but an expensive colorful mixer that's very hard to fit in my flight case.
As I said, I hope someone can help me. If not, I may get the Denon controller.

Thanks but how?
When I took the firewire out, Midi stopped working.
What did you mean about changing buttons from toggle to momentary and how do I use zero edit?
Sorry but I know nothing about this stuff.
