When did we get so lazy?
First its the record crates that no one wanted to deal with..."They're too heavy", "i'm older now and it hurts my back", etc...
Now we want to get rid of the Turntables and use the work stations with scratch...
We're slowly killing the DJ culture.
Don't be surprised if we're all out of jobs in 10 years because some computer nerd decides to download a thousand songs to his ipod and just hit random!
Just a thought!

yeah oso-fresh, thats true, but when i bought my new setup and the serato program i felt as if i might be selling out. One day i was chatting with an older guy and was talking about lots of music i have on vinyl and how much i enjoy the originality of it.. and he told me, "your arent selling out, just take advantage of the technology. We didnt have stuff like this in my day, and now YOU do so you need to use it." and to be totally honest, i love making music for myself and doing what i love, but the fact of the matter is, just spinning vinyl at a party isint gonna cut it anymore. mad respect for everyone that paved the way for us, and IT WILL NEVER be done like the grandmasters, grandwizards and bambaataa himself, kool herk and all those cats. this is the new generation and it is going crazy, i just hope everyone really remembers all of those musical geniuses and know your roots, dig and dont stop, love what you do and really LISTEN to that music.

Ok.. a little miffed.. I loaded 1.1 back on Nov. 4th. and have garage played it for a while trying to "break" it. Was comfortable enough to take my NS7 and my laptop running 1.1 ( which has worked flawlessly since Serato tech and I set up ) to a small party ( 60 people ) of close friends. Sure enough.. smooth as glass ... until I noticed.. when playing Deck A, and doing CTRL+F to find a song.. frame freezes for a second.. that's a heart stopper when the floor is full of 60 people or 2000 people. I never had this problem with 1.0. Grr.. but I move on. A few hours in, Deck A is playing, deck B is synced and looped ( and spinning - waiting for the fade in ) and I'm running another CTRL+F to find the track I am going to throw out after Deck B. BSOD! I run large events on a very regular basis.. this scares the crap out of me. Did spec requirements change with 1.1? What's the deal? Anyone?

DJ Johnny,
You might have better success discussing this in the ITCH area of serato.com: serato.com
Or you could create a Help request and have the Serato and Numark support teams work through your issues with you. You can do that here: serato.com
