TTM57 or DJM 800??

i'm in the verge of tossing my crappy ol' Numark Mixer acrosss the valley of hell and upgrading... believe it or not, but these mixers are almost the same price where I live..

which one to get? dang gina?

but then again, if you go on the pioneer boards u might get a DJM 800 answer...

I'm a house DJ and I like the TTM57 of course for the built in SSL and efx switches.. but the DJM 800 will be a club standard..

i just meant this is a Rane/Serato board, so 4/5 (even 3/5 if you want to be fair) times you will get ttm57....

I reckon there's two parts to this.

The TTM 57 is going to be a much better mixer plus the DSP chip gives it virtually limitless possibilities in terms of effects plus you get SSL and (I believe) the pitch 'n' time plugin.

There are 2 questions you need to ask yourself

1. Do I need more than two channels?
2. Do I want the mixer now?

If you answer yes to either of those questions, get the 800. I don't think you'll be dissapointed as it looks like a great mixer. However if you don't need the channels and you can wait until there is one available for you to buy, get the 57.

It follows, 80% of the clubs I go to have a DJM 600, makes sense that they will now upgrade to the 800.

Obviously this doesn't always follow (not many clubs have upgraded there MkIIs to MkIII or MkIVG) however I think in this case it will happen once the reliablity of the mixer is established.

I own the DJM-800 and so far I really like it a lot.

The only thing I do not like is where the headphone connection is located because when you connect the headphones the part extending out gets in the way of player one or the one one the left side when you are manipulating the pitch slider....or rather I tend to bump it a lot because of the height....but what I did was get an elbow (right angle) plug and now it is not a problem anymore.

......but I will probably also be getting the TTM57.

I will have two systems complete for this year and these are the two mixers that will be in the middle of each both operating SSL.

I played with the DJM 800 last week and it was freakin awesome! The new effects and filters are amazing... The thing I didnt like is the click on the Time Control knob. I would get the DJM800...

But in all honesty, I still rather get a Xone 92 for the same price. There's just something about the Xone that kicks ass and the sound quality is amazing.

Woody/MDX, how long are the faders on the Xone 92? They look really long and that's the one thing that would put me off getting that mixer. For me the faders on the Pioneer and the TTM56 are the perfect length.

get a 909 if you like the 92... just MHO..

Those mixers are like chalk and cheese. 909 is a two channel scratch mixer, the 92 is a 4 channel house/techno mixer.

or you never stipulated 4 channels... if your comparing it to the 57..

Hmmm good question... I've only used to rotary. I never used the fader version.
