Serato stuttering & freezing up,

I recently downloaded about 200 new tracks onto my macbook which now bring my total of tracks to about 850.
I had no problems with serato until I got these new tracks. Now when I scratch with either side the opposite side will stutter or freeze up for anywhere from 1-5secs. Even when straight mixing it does the same thing. Is my laptop just over loaded with tracks (I have 2gb Ram) or is there a bigger issue involved?
